A precooler is also called "ashcatcher" or "dirtcatcher". Why? - Because it does not only have the function to cool the smoke down by swirls, that occure inside the chambers, what makes the smoke digestible, but also have the function to filter coarse dirt particles like ashes or grime out of the smoke by means of the water inside the chambers.
so the smoke tastes smoother and doesn't scratch.
Not many precoolers have two chambers like this Double Bubble by Weedstar, but are significantly more effective.
